22 year old Amanda Bynes, star of the hit musical Hairspray, was involved in a minor car accident last weekend in Los Angeles, California. According to local police, Bynes has been found legally responsible for the accident. She was making an illegal turn in her BMW when she was struck by another driver. The other driver claimed to have minor injuries, but no criminal charges have been filed. The police have stated that no drugs or alcohol were involved in this accident, Bynes's second this year.

At approximately 4:40 on the morning of Saturday, August 16, a car was driving southbound on Harrison Avenue in Panama City. Near 6th street, the car collided with another vehicle, spun and ran into a building. The driver immediately turned and continued driving before police could intervene. The business struck is owned by Panama City Mayor Scott Clemons. Fortunately, no one was in the car or building that were hit.
Police are looking for more information about this driver. All they have reported is that the car is "dark." If you have any further information, contact Panama City Police.

Two dogs that have allegedly bitten people, each in a separate incident, in the town of Sterling, VA have been found and impounded. They are being called a pit bull and a pit bull mix, although these two breeds are often misidentified. One of the dogs has allegedly bitten a woman while she was walking, the other is accused of biting a man who was jogging through the neighborhood.
The owners of the dogs and the bite victims will all testify at a hearing on August 27. State law says that a dog who attacks a person or a pet will be declared "dangerous," unless the court determines that the dog will probably not attack again. For example, a dog that attacks only when threatened would not be considered dangerous.
If you have been bitten by a dog with a negligent owner, you could be able to regain your losses. Contact
Jacksonville dog bite attorney Donald Guthrie at 904-493-6455.

AstraZeneca, producers of the widely prescribed anti-psychotic Seroquel, have been named in three lawsuits filed by the states of Pennsylvania, Montana and Arkansas. The suits are being filed by state governments because about 80 percent of anti-psychotic prescriptions are paid for by state programs, due to the loss of productivity often created by serious mental illness.
Allegations being made against AstraZeneca include the use misleading advertising encouraging people to take Seroquel for reasons that have not been approved by the FDA (a practice known as off-label marketing), manipulating drug trials to cover the side effects of the drug, and paying doctors to promote the drug for off-label uses. The company is also facing more than 8,500 personal injury lawsuits from patients who have developed diabetes or other complications due to the
drug.

A complex traffic accident occurred in Damascus, MD at around 5:20 PM Sunday. It began with a woman injured after falling off her horse at an equestrian event. As an ambulance arrived to help her, 51 year old Robert Lynch was traveling westbound on his motorcycle, with 49 year old Catherine Louis Butler close behind. Lynch slowed down when a car in front of him stopped for the ambulance; Butler did not slow down and collided with his vehicle. He was propelled into a nearby car driven by a student driver while she was thrown into the road.
Butler is being treated for serious injuries, but is in stable condition. Lynch and the student driver were not seriously injured. The state of the injured equestrian is unknown.
