A Jacksonville man was killed while riding his bicycle. The bicycle ran across the path of a police cruiser that was on its way to a call and was flashing its lights. The collision occurred on Myrtle and ninth just west of I-95.
The police cruiser was headed southbound on Myrtle when the cyclist rode in front of him. According to the officer driving the cruiser, the cyclist did not have a green light or right of way. The cyclist was taken to Shands Jacksonville Hospital, and later died there.
