Scuba Diver Hit By Boat

by Administrator 20. February 2009 02:55

A 66 year-old man scuba diving in the Florida Keys was hit by boat.  This the second type of accident in recent memory involving a scuba diver being hit by a boat and suffering lacerations from the propeller.

The man was scuba diving near the service and was flying a "Diver Down" flag.  The "Diver Down" flag is a signal to all approaching boats that a diver is around the area.  Other boats are suppose to slow down significantly and reduce the engine while within a distance of 300 feet of the flag.

The man had lacerations on his legs and was rushed by others to receive medical aid after the accident.

Maryland Couple Killed in Florida Crash

by Administrator 20. February 2009 02:30

A couple from Maryland that were visiting Florida were killed in a car crash on Wednesday.  They were hit by a driver who had a blood alcohol level well above the legal limit.  The case is raising controversy because the driver that hit the couple was from the Miccosukee tribe,  which claims that it is not subject to the laws of Florida.

The driver from the Miccosukee tribe that hit the couple should not have been driving in the first place.  His license had been suspended from an earlier charge of driving drunk and was supposed to be suspended until he faced trial for those charges in July.
