What Should You Do After A Car Accident?

Officers Causes Car Accident Because of Laptop

Posted on March 4th, 2009 No Comments

A police officer on Monday caused an accident after slamming into an empty fuel tanker that was stopped at a rail road crossing.  The officer,  Amanda Meyer,  was distracted by the on-board computer laptop when the accident occurred.  She nor the driver of the tanker were not injured in the accident.

The accident has raised questions involving all the distractions that an officer has to face while driving.  Citizens normally are told that driving on the phone is a dangerous and distracting activity,  which it is.  Imagine operating a radio, a laptop, radar gun, and monitoring for violations for driving,  which is a normal daily procedure of many officers.

The accident involving the distracting laptop  is just an example of how drivers can become distracted by many different things while on the road.
