A young 5-year-old girl was recently killed in a single vehicle accident on a Florida turnpike Saturday evening.

The accident was said to have occurred when the driver of a mini-van lost control of the vehicle.  The driver then over-corrected the vehicle causing it to go off the road and strike a guard rail.  After striking the guard rail, the vehicle overturned on its side.  This caused two passengers in the rear of the vehicle to be ejected. 

The young girl was killed at the scene of the accident.   Three other occupants of the vehicle were rushed to a hospital for treatment of their injuries.

A motorcycle rider is dead following an accident with a school bus that took place in southwest Florida. 

The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the accident.  According to reports,  the bus attempted to make a left turn  when the motorcyclist struck the vehicle.  No children were on the school bus at the time of the accident. The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident by officials.

The driver of the school bus was uninjured.   The name of the motorcyclist has not yet been released pending the notification of family.

A Vermont man who was 59 years-old has recently been killed in a hang-gliding accident in Florida.  The man died after the hang-glider he was piloting crashed into a tree.  This caused the man to fall to the ground and suffer from critical and life-threatening injuries.

Authorities were called to the scene fo the accident and the man was airlifted to a Florida hospital for immediate treatment.  However,  the man was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital.  The accident is currently under investigation by the Polk County Sheriff's Office.

A former member of a prominent drug ring in Key West has recently been killed in a car accident as she was driving out of the Florida Keys.  The woman was sentenced and convicted in 1985 for her role in cocaine distribution and other charges.  The woman had since taken up a career as an aesthetician and was on her way to a beauty convention. 

The mother of the woman killed was awakened by police officers at her door early in the morning Friday.  Funeral arrangements are currently underway and the mother has stated that the funeral will be a simple ceremony.   

The accident is currently under investigation.  Investigators are currently unsure of what caused the accident to occur.

A 17 year-old teenager driver has been killed following an accident that took place Sunday morning.

The accident occurred when the teenager struck a disabled vehicle that was in the road.  The vehicle had been involved in an accident shortly before it became disabled.  The teenager driver slammed his vehicle into the disabled vehicle causing a serious accident.  The driver was killed on impact.  A passenger was in the vehicle and the time of the accident, and the passenger had to be taken to a hospital to be treated for his injuries.  According to reports, the driver was speeding and not wearing a seatbelt.
