Ninety-one passengers of an American Airlines plane en route from Miami to Kingston, Jamaica were injured when the plane overran the runway as it was landing.

According to reports, the Boeing 737 – which was carrying 148 passengers and six crew members – did not stop on the designated runway, crashed through a barrier fence and across a road before finally coming to a stop when it ran into a beach just past Norman Manley International Airport.  The 91 injured passengers were taken to Kingston Public Hospital, the Jamaica Observer reports.
