What Should You Do After A Car Accident?

3 bicyclists struck by drunk driver

Three bicyclists were struck by a vehicle in St. Augustine while they were riding along North U.S. 1 on Monday afternoon.  The driver fled the scene.  The cyclists were airlifted to Shands Jacksonville trauma unit as it was suspected that they may have sustained head injuries in the accident. Authorities confirmed that two cyclists were in fair condition and one was treated and released for what professionals call superficial injuries.  The three cyclists all worked as Information Technology employees for the same company and they usually would leave together to ride their bikes on their lunch break.  Another friend was riding along behind them but he was not struck by the vehicle.

Several motorists followed the vehicle as it sped away and some of the witnesses claim that they saw the driver throw a beer can out the window as he pulled onto Hibiscus Street.  When the man was eventually pulled over, police said that he had slurred speech and other characteristics that lead them to believe that he was driving while intoxicated.
