This past Sunday evening, two people were seriously injured in an accident on U.S. Highway 231 involving two motorcycles and a car.  According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the accident occurred at around 7:30 PM on the Bailey Branch Bridge near Alford.

Reports indicate that all three vehicles were traveling northbound on 231 towards the bridge when the two motorcyclists tried to pass a Pontiac sedan driven by 28-year old Sabrina Lindahl.  One of the motorcycles hit the back of the sedan and another swerved into the median.  The sedan then hit the second motorcyclist and pushed them into the guardrail on the east side of 231.

The driver of the motorcycle who hit the sedan, 67-year old Willie Peach, was not wearing a helmet and had to be airlifted to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital where he was listed in critical condition.  The other motorcyclist, 50-year old Gordon Ward, was taken to South Alabama Medical Center with serious injuries.  The driver of the sedan was not injured and a passenger in the vehicle was treated for minor injuries.
