What Should You Do After A Car Accident?

Leyritz convicted of DUI, acquitted of manslaughter

On Saturday, former MLB player, Jim Leyritz, was convicted of a misdemeanor charge of driving under the influence related to a car accident in 2007 that left 30-year old Fredia Ann Veitch dead.  The jury was unable to reach a decision concerning the charges on Friday and was asked to reconvene on Saturday or else the trial would have to be declared a mistrial.

Evidence and witness testimonials were insufficient to prove or disprove if Leyritz ran a red light before hitting Veitch's vehicle.  The jury decided to acquit the DUI manslaughter charge.  The misdemeanor drunk driving conviction has a maximum jail sentence of 6 months.
