What Should You Do After A Car Accident?

Pedestrian killed by Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office officer

Posted on May 4th, 2011 No Comments

Last Wednesday, a pedestrian was killed in a tragic pedestrian accident involving a member of the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.  According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the accident occurred in St. Johns County on Interstate 95 at around 5:30 A.M.

On the highway around Race Track Road, 57-year old Jeffrey Coombs’ vehicle was seen crossing all the northbound lanes until hitting the median.  After the crash, Coombs got out of his car and crossed the highway to get to the north side of Race Track Road.  While walking back across the highway to his car, a Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office vehicle struck him.

Paramedics rushed the victim to Baptist South Hospital where he later passed away.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Coombs’ family and friends during this difficult time.
