What Should You Do After A Car Accident?

State changes slip and fall law

Posted on June 8th, 2011 No Comments

Slip and fall legislation in the state of Florida will be changing on July 1st.  Current laws require those filing slip and fall lawsuits to prove that a slip and fall accident occurred.  However, the new legislation will also require people filing slip and fall lawsuits to prove that the defendant was aware of the conditions that caused the slip and fall accident.

Furthermore, the new legislation states that defendants can be held responsible for slip and fall accidents if it is proved that they should have expected an accident would eventually occur as a result of certain recurring problems or conditions, and that they could have fixed those problems or conditions.
