What Should You Do After A Car Accident?

Man suffers ear laceration after airbag deploys improperly

Posted on May 18th, 2012 No Comments

A defective airbag may be the cause of an injury sustained by the owner of a 2012 Hyundai Elantra. The man filed a complaint stating that the deployment of the airbag during an accident broke off a piece of metal, which in turn slashed his ear quite severely.

The U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has received this claim along with one other in regards to the specific car model and has decided to begin an investigation. The initial car with the protruding piece of metal has yet to be examined in the investigation.

If a defect becomes apparent through this investigation, a recall could be the next step. In the United States, this recall would affect as many as 123,000 Hyundai Elantras.
