What Should You Do After A Car Accident?

Jacksonville bicyclist involved in accident passes away

Posted on June 15th, 2012 No Comments

Last night in Jacksonville, a bicyclist rode through flashing crossing arms and was struck by an oncoming Amtrak train. The man on the bicycle was killed as a result of the bicycle-train accident.

According to witnesses, the bicyclist was crossing the train tracks after the arms had already been put down. The witness claims that the man seemed to be in no hurry to move across the tracks, and the northbound Amtrak train was traveling at about 35 miles per hour when it struck the bicyclist.

The train has been stopped at the intersection of Moncrief-Dinsmore Road and Trout River Boulevard. Authorities are conducting an investigation into the fatal accident, and the train is expected to be running again by 10 p.m. tonight.

The railroad accident lawyers of the Law Offices of Donald Guthrie would like to offer their sincerest condolences to the family and friends of the victim.
