Abigail Wright was only four when she suffered the accident that would change her life and those of her family member's. She was at a park with her younger sister Mia and their nanny, much like any other day. It happened when Abigail decided to climb up the latter of a slide with her jump rope slung around her shoulder. Tragically, she slipped and fell, the rope caught on the tunnel covering the side, and Abigail was nearly strangled. She was only deprived of oxygen for seconds, but that was enough to cause permanent diffuse brain damage.
A year later, the Wrights are coping with their new lives. Abigail has difficulty moving and vocalizing, but her parents Martha and Bob report that she is constantly improving, albeit slowly. Her doctors caution her family not to set their hopes too high, but the Wrights are working hard with their daughter every day, and remain faithful that she will continue to improve.
