The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating an accident that has left two pedestrians dead.  The accident occurred Thursday night in Cantonment.

The driver of the vehicle that struck then passengers was only 18 years-old and had recently just graduated from Northview High School.  The accident occurred when the driver was passing northbound traffic when he failed to notice pedestrians in the northbound lane walking to the other lane that was southbound.  The pedestrians were a part of a group that included six people.

When the driver struck the group,   two were killed. Others were seriously injured in the accident and had been rushed to local area hospitals.

The driver may have charges brought against him in the future and the accident is still currently under investigation.
