Williston Woman Dead After Crash

by Administrator 25. February 2009 02:07

A woman from Williston is dead following a crash that occurred on Tuesday morning.  The crash happened at the Alachua County Road 241, which is south of Newberry.

The woman was pronounced dead several hours after the accident.  The crash occurred when the woman lost control of her van for unknown reasons.  The van veered on to the shoulder.  After veering on the shoulder, the van crossed both lanes of the highway, struck a tree, and then flipped over.

The woman was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of accident and was ejected from the vehicle.  The lack of a seatbelt likely added to the accident being fatal.
